Divine Proximity
Bedi Hanuman Temple, or Bedi Anjaneya temple, positioned very near Srivari temple's Mahadwaaram, profoundly offers solace akin to touching the Lord's Feet.
Legend has it that every pilgrim to Tirumala must pay homage to the revered shrine of Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy, whose blessings are believed to sanctify the entire journey. Situated within walking distance from the grand entrance of Sri Venkateswara Temple, the Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy Temple holds a special place in the hearts of devotees.According to ancient lore, a young Hanuman once felt the urge to venture beyond the Tirumala hills in pursuit of a camel. However, his mother, Anjana Devi, sought to deter him and thus bound his hands with sturdy cuffs, instructing him to remain steadfast until her return. Honoring his mother's command, Hanuman stood vigilantly by the Mahadwaaram, where he is said to remain to this day. Anjana Devi, meanwhile, chose to reside near the sacred Akasa Ganga and never returned to that spot.

The Sri Bedi Anjaneyaswami Temple in Tirumala stands proudly on Sannidhi Street, positioned directly across from the Sri Venkateswara Temple, facing its majestic Maha dwaram. Notably, following the offering of neivedyam to Lord Sri Venkateswara and Sri Aadhi Varahaswamy (located on the banks of Swamy Pushkarini), the prasadam is ceremoniously brought to this temple. This ritual symbolizes the deep spiritual connection and reverence between the deities, enriching the sacred atmosphere of the pilgrimage site. Devotees often partake in this blessed offering, fostering a sense of unity and devotion within the religious community.
Legend has it that during her sojourn in the Tirumala Hills, Anjana Devi's son, the young Hanuman (Bala Hanuman), expressed a desire to venture away from the hills in search of a camel. To dissuade him from leaving, his mother, Anjana Devi, bound his hands with cuffs (Bedi) and instructed him to remain there until her return. Respecting his mother's wishes, Bala Hanuman obediently agreed to stay until her return. Anjana Devi then departed the Tirumala Hills and settled near the Akash Ganga in the Himalayas. Despite her absence, Bala Hanuman faithfully stands to this day before the holy Mahadwaaram of the Tirumala Temple, awaiting his mother's return from the Himalayas.
