Vasanthotsavam is an Arjiitha Seva performed daily to Lord Sri Venkateswara in Tirumala. Originally an annual ritual in November, it's now a daily affair with a slight variation. Pilgrims can book and attend this Seva, held in the Vaibhavotsava Mantapam, offered to Sri Malayappa Swami and His consorts – Sridevi and Bhudevi. The Seva begins with applying scents to the deities and chanting Purusha Suktam, Narayana Suktam, Shri Suktam, and Bhu Suktam, followed by Abhishekam with sacred substances. Sandal paste is applied, and other rituals are performed. The Seva concludes by showering the idols with water through a Sahasradhara Patram. The experience of Vasanthotsavam is profound, with the Abhishekam and spiritual objects offering immense pleasure. Ticket holders receive two small laddus as prasadam, completing the divine experience.
During Vasanthotsavam in Tirumala, adherence to a specific dress code is essential to maintain the sanctity of the ritual. Male devotees must remove their shirts and vests during the Seva, wearing a white Dhoti or Pancha. This practice signifies humility and respect in the presence of the divine.
