Tirumala Unjal Seva is a sacred ritual at Tirumala Venkateswara Temple. During this ceremony, the deities Lord Venkateswara, Goddess Lakshmi, and Goddess Padmavathi are placed on a swing adorned with fragrant flowers and intricate decorations. Devotees eagerly participate in this ritual, seeking the divine blessings of the Lord and His consorts. The gentle swaying of the swing, accompanied by melodious devotional songs and chants, creates a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. The Unjal Seva is conducted with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring every aspect of the ritual is performed with utmost reverence. It is believed that participating in this ceremony brings immense spiritual merit and fulfills the devotees' heartfelt prayers for happiness, prosperity, and well-being. The Tirumala Unjal Seva serves as a beautiful expression of devotion and love towards the divine, fostering a deep connection between the devotees and the Lord.
During the Unjal Seva ritual, the idols of Lord Sri Venkateswara and His consorts Sri Devi and Bhu Devi grace the Unjal or Swing in the Aina Mahal, also known as the Mirror Hall, located opposite the Ranganayaka Mandapam. The entire area gleams with the warm glow of lamps, creating a divine ambiance. As part of the Dolotsavam ritual, priests chant vedic hymns accompanied by sacred musical instruments. Upon completion of the Seva, each ticket holder receives two small laddus from the Laddu Counter. Additionally, after the Seva concludes, ticket holders proceed for the darshan of the main deity Lord Sri Venkateswara in the sanctum sanctorum. Seva Ticket holders are then integrated into the queue for other paid services, facilitating their darshan experience.
